  5. What are symptoms of methadone withdrawal?
Asked: 2018-07-03 01:48:09
started to take methadone three months ago because I had an addiction to opiates after getting into an accident at work. I no longer feel a draw to the opiates but am afraid to stop using the methadone cold turkey. What withdrawal symptoms will I experience as I try to detox from the methadone?

When you withdrawal from methadone, you will feel anxiety, nausea, moody, depressed, and more than likely suffer from insomnia if you try to stop using it cold turkey. It’s best to taper down on the amount of methadone hat you take overtime so your body can adjust to the lessened amounts until it no longer needs it at all.

The withdrawal symptoms you experience when you detox from methadone will vary based on how long you have been taking it. If your body has become very accustomed to methadone treatments, it may be difficult to quit using it all at once. Your body could become overwhelmed and you could have horrible headache, vomit a lot, and feel achy and weak throughout your body.
