State Funded Substance Abuse Facilities

Private and state-funded substance abuse facilities are sound choices for addiction treatment, however; they have different benefits to offer. State-funded rehab programs are generally more accessible, as they’re free or low-cost based on a sliding scale fee. They’re non-profit and typically work with anyone who needs help.

Despite the low cost of their services, they offer competent treatment programs that adhere to the National Institute on Drug Abuse’s Principles of Effective Treatment, which are based on scientific research that was done over the last few decades including, “Treatment doesn’t need to be voluntary to be effective” and “Effective treatment addresses all of the patient’s needs, not just his or her drug use.”

State-funded treatment centers are diligent about employing only credentialed and qualified addiction medicine professionals who are experienced in cognitive behavioral therapies, medically-assisted treatment and other evidence-based therapies. Addiction treatment programs may include individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, treatment for co-occurring disorders, resources for employment, housing and childcare, and life skills training, such as money management, social skills, anger management, and accountability.

Substance abuse treatment centers that are funded by your state government are regularly and actively held to high standards to ensure successful treatment, which offers the patient a chance to rebuild and maintain a happy and healthy lifestyle for a long time to come.
