  5. What are the withdrawal symptoms of oxycodone?
Asked: 2018-08-27 04:49:04
My doctor gave me oxycodone after surgery on my knee last year. I kept taking it even though I knew I wasn’t supposed to, and I’m pretty sure I’m addicted. Every time I try to stop taking it I start to feel sick and shaky. Are these the normal withdrawal symptoms?

Oxycodone is pretty serious stuff. Your body can get addicted to it just like it can to heroin, and the withdrawals are pretty close to the same. Tell your doctor, and make sure you get rid of your supply. You’ll probably be down for about 10 days if you’ve been taking it for a whole year, and you’ll feel really sick to your stomach and cold. Have somebody stay with you and make sure that you get help if you need it.

Yep, it definitely sounds like you’re physically addicted. If you’ve kept taking it, I can assume that you’ve been doing it illegally? Either way, it’s time to quit and you should probably be prepared to feel like you got a really bad flu for about a week. If you’re serious about stopping, you should let your doctor know and get some sort of help.
