When my friend says she is going through drug withdrawals, what can I do to better understand and help her?

Withdrawals are a difficult process for anyone. The best thing you can do is support her and let you know you are there for her. Her withdrawals are physically painful and mentally exhausting, as she is probably experiencing symptoms like nausea, vomiting, fever and insomnia. Just keep trying your best to help her and encourage her to get help!

It’s hard to watch your friends suffer, but it’s also difficult to watch them spiral downward with drugs. Try your best to support her and offer to help her get into treatment and rehabilitation if you can. Understand that her withdrawal symptoms will be difficult as her body copes without the drugs. She may be nauseous, sick to her stomach and very irritable.
