Acute withdrawal is something addicts can say when they are craving to use again, so that they don’t have to admit they still need help.

So not true, disregard the previous answer. Acute withdrawal is a real thing. It happens when people who have used a large amount of drugs experience withdrawal symptoms for months or even a year after detox. It is serious and should be treated as such. Your brother is going through a lot and could use your help.
