I’ve been told I can take suboxone to help me come off heroin. How long do I have to wait?

This isn’t something you should attempt on your own, as you can’t accurately measure your own symptoms, you need to go into mild withdrawal from the heroin, but suboxone can be dangerous if you take it at the wrong time. Somewhere around 12 – 24 hours but get someone who knows to help.

It’s around 12 – 24 hours but each person reacts differently so you should seek medical help. Then they can assess if you are a 5 or 6 on the Clinical Opiate Withdrawal scale and that’s when they’ll give you the suboxone.
