Can you overdose on salvia

At a get-together with some college buds and this girl I used to crush on hard was sitting on the cough taking a hit on salvia (from what I was told) after she did it, she didnt seem to be 'all there' anymore and was complete absent minded. It was terrifying to me.. shes such an awesome chick. What happened that made her absent-minded like that? Was it salvia overdose or something?
