What is meant by the term drug abuse?

My friend said that my use of prescription drugs has gone beyond normal limits and is now termed drug abuse. I don’t think it has. What defines drug abuse?

If you need whatever drug you’re taking on a regular basis and you’ll do anything to get it, then that is drug abuse.
