Can you be addicted to Xanax?

My anxiety has been particularly horrible over the holiday season and I have felt the need to take my Xanax on a more frequent basis. Will regular use lead to addiction? (the prescription is mine and I do take it only as prescribed so I don't know if that makes a difference)

It actually says on the informational pamphlet that the doctor sends you home with that Xanax does carry the risk for addiction. So yea you could be at risk here. I would not hesitate to speak with your healthcare provider about your concerns.
