How long does it take to detox from xanax?

What started out as something to calm me down has become a habit that I need to cut out of my life. I need to come off Xanax but want to know how long it will take?

Xanax is a benzo and its pretty much one of the most abused drugs on the market, so at any given moment, youre probably around someone who is abusing it or withdrawing from it! No wonder were all so angry! Withdrawal can feel pretty awful, with symptoms ranging from insomnia to vomiting, headaches and muscle pain and it lasts around 2 weeks.

It depends how long you’ve been taking it but normally withdrawal from Xanax lasts about 2 weeks. It can be highly unpredictable, you’re gonna feel anxious and ill during this time.

It depends on how long youve been using it, if youve been using it as per doctors orders or if youve built up quite a tolerance. If you have been really abusing it then youve probably felt the Xanax side effects of withdrawal, such as headaches, anxiety and palpitations all this is going to get worse when you come off it, but just for a bit. Its not recommended to go cold turkey you should if possible, and do as instructed there, they can also give you meds to help with the withdrawal.

Xanax withdrawal takes about two weeks. You could be lucky and it may only last about 10 days or so, or if you have been a really heavy user you might go into protracted withdrawal, which can actually last months. But most people go through about 2 weeks, although the anxiety lingers.

Even if you have only been using Xanax a little while, you can feel withdrawal symptoms. It can also depend on your Xanax dosage. Ideally, if youre going to come it, you should taper down, and even then you might feel a bit anxious, dizzy and irritable for about a week.
