  5. How long does the anxiety last from opiate withdrawal?
Asked: 2018-02-05 02:03:40
I’ve always had serious social and personal anxiety. I didn’t have the best childhood, and a step panic attacks all the time. When I tried heroin for the first time I felt great. I was outgoing I liked everybody, and I felt like I can relax for the first time ever. Well, obviously that turned into a pretty serious problem and I’m trying to get straight. The problem is that using the heroin made my anxiety a lot worse. I’m trying to do things right and see a counselor, but I need to know how long the extra anxiety will last.

Having anxiety to begin with can make it really hard to know what’s from the heroin and what’s from you. Most of the time, you’ll start to feel calmer as the chemicals in your brain get back to their normal levels. Your withdrawal symptoms. Within the first two weeks, but that anxiety can go a lot longer. Make sure that you treat it correctly and see a professional instead of trying to self medicate again.

This can be really tricky because it involves your body and your mind. I think that it’s a good thing that you’re seeing a professional and they can probably answer this question better than I can. I found that the worst of the anxiety went away after about a month. It lasted a little bit longer than the physical symptoms, but it did get better with time. There’s definitely light at the end of the tunnel.
