My nephew is addicted to alcohol. I haven’t told his Mom, and i’d like to help him detox here at my house without his Mom knowing. My question is how long will it take.

In my opinion his Mom should be told depending on his age, but withdrawal should take about a week.

Withdrawal from alcohol can be severe and have symptoms like headaches and nausea in the first 6 to 12 hours. with confusion, increased body temp and heart rate for about 48 hours and then it could be shakes, seizures and even death. With all that being said, your nephew’s symptoms from withdrawal should disappear after 7 days.
