  5. What are symptoms of drug use?
Asked: 2018-07-09 20:08:14
I have never taken any drugs before in my life. I was hurt in a car accident and my doctor prescribed opiates to me, but I am terrified to take them. What symptoms can I expect when I take them?

It’s important to take the opiates the exact way your doctor prescribed them. If you notice that they aren’t working for you the way that you need them to, let your doctor know so he or she can change the prescription or you. You should feel a relief from some of your pain and may feel slightly lethargic when you use the opiates.

When you take opiates properly, they will decrease the pain that you feel. If you abuse them, you will start to feel lethargic, sleep more often, lose weight, and may start to notice that it feels impossible to treat the pain that you feel. Addicts often have to take more and more of the drugs in order to get the high that they got when they first started using them.
