I just moved to the area for work and met my downstairs neighbor. She asked me if I could take her to the methadone clinic. I’m all about helping people, but I just met her, and I’m not even sure what a methadone clinic is? Is it safe?

If I were you, I would probably seek another place to live now. Someone who needs to visit the methadone clinic, is someone who has been addicted to something like heroin, and finds it nessasary to use another drug like methadone to get off the other drug. Only the clinic regulates their use of methadone.

A methadone clinic is safe, but not a great first met and greet for you and your neighbor. A methadone clinic is a place where your neighbor is getting methadone, to curb her drug addiction.

A methadone clinic is a facility that offers individuals battling an addiction to opioids to get professional help to overcome their addiction. The clinics have licensed and certified medical professionals so that the health and welfare of the individuals seeking care is always a priority.

You can choose to go to a public or a private methadone clinic to get help with an addiction. The public clinics allow you to get help for an affordable cost, but they often have very limited openings available so it’s important to act quickly if you want to get a spot. Private methadone clinics often have quite a few openings available because they are facilities that require you to pay a significant amount in order to get care. Some insurance companies cover rehab care so yours may pay for you to go to a private clinic for your recovery if you ask them about it.

Many people assume that addicts go to methadone clinics just to get meds to reduce the withdrawal symptoms during detox. While this one benefit, there is often a lot more that goes into the care offered at the clinics. You can go to individual and group counseling sessions to get a better understanding of what your triggers are, why you started using and what you can do to keep from relapsing later on down the road. More than 40% of all addicts who try to quit end up relapsing because they don’t take the time to learn healthy management techniques for when they get out of rehab.

Methadone clinics often offer addicts inpatient and outpatient care options too. Inpatient care is great if you need to detox because your withdrawal symptoms will be minimized. Outpatient care is commonly offered to after you’ve already gone through inpatient care and simply need to maintain your sobriety until you can continue on your own without any medications.

Going to a methadone clinic allows you to be removed from temptations and ensure you can be monitored during your recovery so medical attention can be given when needed. Being able to separate yourself from the temptation of opioids allows you to focus on your own recovery and take steps to bettering yourself now and in the future.
