A group of loved ones closest to the addict come together and share legitimate concerns from a heartfelt place of love and concern. Usually an intervention specialist will lead the intervention to make sure it continues in the right direction with the best possible outcome. Our intervention specialist was a godsend. Things went off the rails toward the end and my brother was walking out the door but she talked to him outside and he changed his mind. Our family group hug of relief as he was taken to treatment was surreal! I highly recommend them!

An intervention is kind of like a group therapy session that the addict didn’t agree to. Everyone present will talk about his drug use and how it’s changed him and why they don’t like it.

You gather up family and friends and meet him at a specific time, unfortunately the addict can’t really know it’s going to happen or he probably won’t attend. All of you will then very frankly talk to him about his cocaine addiction has affected you.
