Why do people have addictive personalities?

What are the traits of someone with an addictive personality? People say I have one but I don’t understand what they mean.

You could have an addictive personality if you have problems like controlling yourself. If you’re out with friends and everyone has 2-3 drinks and you find yourself ordering 5 more than the rest you might have an addictive personality. Just be aware of your behavior- easier said than done though!
