Can you admit someone into rehab?

My family recently found out that I have a drug problem and said that they are going to admit me to a rehab against my will. Is this legal? If it is against my will can I be forced to go anyways?

I think that it all depends on the state because different places have different laws. The most efficient way to get more info on this topic would be to contact a local rehab facility and ask them directly what can and can not be done.

If you are a minor then your parents absolutely can have you admitted against your will. I am not exactly sure about the specifics if you are over the age of 18 however. I do know that there is probably a way for them to have you admitted if you are a danger to yourself or others but it would not be to a rehab facility it would be to a psych hospital.
