Can valium cause anxiety?

I never used any meds to help with mental or physical problems except for the occasional infection or headache. I super anxious about 99% of the time and thinking about taking valium, but I'm afraid it will make the anxiety worse and cause me to be high which I'm also afraid of being.

Considering that valium medications are used to treat anxiety as well as panic disorders it is not likely for valium to cause anxiety.
