I used cocaine a lot as a teenager, now being an adult I worry that I have damaged my brain.

Makes sense that you're now just worried about it because people that use cocaine often show signs of brain damage years after cocaine use. Damages to the brain are known to be caused by the narrowing of veins as well as arteries that flow through the brain.

Cocaine can cause alteration to your brain chemistry that ultimately ends up being permanent. Some people look at this chemistry change as damage to the brain which is where addiction and substance use disorders develop.
