Seems as if I'm always putting myself in high risk situations so I'm going to an Na meeting instead of out on the town. I've never been.. exactly how long are NA meetings?

Narcotics Anonymous meetings go on for about an hour. This is a reasonable amount of time, and it allows time to settle in, but if you need to leave within the hour, then thats ok too. Its not compulsory, its there to help, so if you dont feel ready, then thats ok too.

NA meetings usually last about an hour, but they tend to draw out what people want to speak to one another. There’s no set time limit If your risky behavior is tied to drugs, then this may be an appropriate group for you. No one is going to make you stay for the entire time if you’re not comfortable being there. The purpose of these groups is to give you a place where you feel safe and accepted while trying to seek treatment. You won’t be judged if you have to get up and leave or if you want to stay longer than the allotted time.

There are different kinds of meetings, open groups and closed, but its usually around an hour, same as aa meetings. Anyone can attend an open meeting, so if its your first time, go along to one of these. The organization of and doesnt distinguish between particular sorts of drugs, so whether youre addicted to heroin, painkillers, cocaine or alcohol, it follows the same 12-step program to help people get and stay well.

First of all, good for you for trying to make positive changes in your life. The meetings usually last right around an hour, but the time varies based on the people there and what they need to say. Sometimes, the meetings can last all evening or take only a matter of minutes when no one’s really wanting to share. It’s more a place for people to connect and to find recovery resources in one another. it can definitely help to give it a try and see if it appeals to you.

Usually around one hour long, the format will kind of keep to an hour, but it might run a bit over when people are talking. You can usually hang around for a bit afterwards for tea or a chat but yeah, generally an hour. That makes it easy to fit in, and if youve been sharing that day, believe me an hour is enough!
