Can ecstasy be addictive?

Stumbled across an article about research on ecstasy and it potential benefit in medicine.. I'm very confused because I though ecstasy was addictive.

Ecstasy was one of the first drugs I used and I was only 14. At the time I felt so amazing and felt so free that I needed more. I believe that I was hooked from the very first time I did ecstasy and was addicted to it as well as other drugs from that point on.
