Is it safe to take methadone while pregnant?

I just got off drugs and went on methadone to help my opioid withdrawal. But I just found out I am pregnant, is it safe to continue on methadone?

Yes Opioid withdrawal usually will not kill an adult but it will cause serious harm to a fetus, up to and including death from miscarriage or pre-term labor. I suggest staying on methadone during your pregnancy.
