Can Xanax cause memory loss?

Sometimes after taking my Xanax I wake up the next morning with no recollection of what happened the night before. Is this a common side effect of Xanax? has anybody else had any similar experiences?

This happens to me reg when I take Xanax. It is pretty common amongst not just myself but my friends as well to forget entire days sometimes.
