My husband has increased in hid drinking. He now drinks every night and gets frustrated if I try to talk with him about it. How do I know if he is becoming an alcoholic?

If someone is an alcoholic, they may suffer from blackouts, have aggression, anxiety and loss of control. The best thing to do is just ask this person if they have a drinking problem. According to American Addiction Centers, in 2012, 17 million adults had been diagnosed with severe alcoholism. This person you are worried about isnt weak or anything- they are just someone who needs help. So, let them know youre there to help them when they are ready. You may be able to tell someone is an alcoholic if they are binge drinking. Binge drinking is where someone drinks massive amounts of alcohol for days or weeks at a time. According to the Center of Disease Control and Prevention, in just the last month, 65 million Americans reported to binge drinking. Alcoholism is not a rare comity. It happens to the best of us. Many people drink socially without becoming alcoholics, but there are some warning signs that a problem is developing. Does your wife hide her drinking – such as putting her alcohol in a soda cup, etc? Do you notice her drinking to the point of intoxication whenever she drinks? Is she drinking earlier in the day than before? These are indicators that a problem has started.

Alcohlism is a serious disease and there are many signs of an alcoholic you can look out for. The biggest sign is probably lack of motivation and they are always drinking or drunk. Maybe just try asking them if they have a problem drinking? You never know if they are just to afraid to ask for help.
