Taking methadone for specific or unspecified reasons will for a fact cause withdrawal. In fact, methadone withdrawal is not going to be easy or safe for every person. As your grandmother is old, if it were me, I would take her to a hospital.

I agree, withdrawal from methadone sometimes makes you suseptible for cardivocasular issues as well as things like sezuires. Undoubtly a hospital has the right away.

Kaylin, a hospital is a great idea but the reality of the situation is you REALLY need to encourage her to talk to her doctor. Not tomorrow or in a week, she needs to talk to her doctor now. Methadone is not a prescription that you just stop taking. It could take months for your grandmother to be tapered off and that process can only start if she says something to her doctor. Going through methadone withdrawals at her age could be very very very stressful on her health. Hospital first, nice friendly chat with doctor next. Her doctor will have a solution. Better than cold turkey, trust me, no trust us, trust that Griffith and Elsie and myself know what we are talking about.
