Unity Point Health Saint Lukes's outpatient program allows for that patient to keep on living in your home but which makes routine visits to the facility based on their own assessment. The patient will then begin their inpatient therapy program at Cedar Rapids, IA receiving intensive therapy and also the best of maintenance.

My family was traveling through the area last week when we realized our toddler was experiencing breathing problems while on our drive. We were immediately taken back for triage/care once we arrived. The ER physician, Sarah, was incredible. She made us feel like we were in excellent hands and asked all the right questions, letting us know she was on it. The nurses were hands down the best ever. There were several, but nurse Karen is one I remember the name. I looked to her as news was getting worse about the diagnosis for my little girl--she reassured me and kept me comforted. She and other nurses came to take my 4 year old around for popsicles, coloring and stuffies. She felt so special and it took her away from seeing her parents concerned and allowed us to freak out a little without her seeing us. When it came down to a decision that it was in my baby\'s best interest to seek a higher level of pediatric care in Iowa City, the pediatric physician and ER physician made me feel we were absolutely making the right decision (and it was). The respiratory team who checked in and then who road alongside us were so reassuring and gentle with my frightened and sick little girl. We felt we were in the best care for finding initial answers and know a path forward. We can\'t thank them enough. Our little girl has made a full recovery and we are so grateful. So happy we were where we were in our drive to have happened upon St. Luke\'s. <3

We recently had two sick children that needed to be seen on a Sunday but the pediatric office only had one opening. The provider and staff were amazing and agreed to add on another appointment so both children could be seen rather then us needing to take one to the urgent care. They were well into their closing hours after a busy day but they took the time with us that our kids needed to make sure that everyone was taken care of and sure to be on the mend. Thank you!

I had some trouble with my emergency room visit and hospital visit at Unity Point so I talked to Dena the patient advocate Who blamed me for how things were handled! Dena was snotty and rude to me ! Dena lacks compassion and empathy towards the patients. I am going to Mercy Hospital in the future and try to go to all Mercy doctors. Unity Point has a couple of excellent doctors but most of their doctors aren\'t the best.

We made the choice to switch away from unity point because we were constantly being shuffled off to urgent care and triaged by office staff rather than actual “care team” members. Small town- we could recognize who we were speaking to on the phone. This was a multi-year problem. For the most part, the physicians, PAs and nurses we encountered were great- once you busted through the triage wall to get there. However, we only saw them at times of wellness- could never get in when there was strep throat or UTI or injury during PE at school.

I want to go onto detail but will never set foot in that hospital again. We were treated so rudely and the Dr was a jerk and wouldn\'t answer any questions about why certain tests needed to be done. He acted like he was not top of the world and better than us then laughed at a situation about a test that was uncomfortable to tall about to begin with. First time back there in 6 years and will never go back for help from them again. I would recommend mercy hospital to anyone!

I used to always like St Lukes. Always first choice. Their billing and customer service is way below standard. I dont know what happened. I\'m considering not going there for any further treatments for anything...not even a cold. To help illistrate this, i saw treatment from a car accident. They notified me in January of a bill....notified me in February, i called two days after recieving the bill and i was already sent to collections for this. I wasnt even at fault in the accident. Still recovering a year later and now i have to deal with them. Well not really, cause i had to drain my savings cause they wouldnt even take a payment at that point.

Often many of the social media reviews posted for medical care are when someone is frustrated or disappointed, so I wanted to take this opportunity to do the opposite. We would like to thank and acknowledge Unity Point CR for the excellent care my husband received as a patient there this past fall/winter following a ischemic stroke which significantly impacted the left side of his body. We were soon introduced to a team of knowledgeable physicians from ER, hospitalists, neurology, cardiology and rehab as well as a host of excellent nurses. Unity Point became our home away from home for about two months. We were impressed not only with the quality but also the personalization of care and support we both received. Special thanks goes to the the 6th floor in-patient and out-patient Rehab Teams. All we can say is that you were an answer to the prayers of many on our behalf! These rehab doctors, nurses, nurse/case managers, social workers, PTs, OTs, and SLPs were individually and as a team OUTSTANDING including our very own Mt. Vernon UP family physician for his ongoing support. Their wisdom, encouragement and rehab plans have provided critical guidance and direction during my husband’s ongoing recovery. As far as the St. Luke’s Physical Medicine and Rehab “facility”, all I can say is that if you haven’t been to the 6th floor at Unity Point hospital you are missing an impressive and quite frankly “HIDDEN JEWEL” in the Cedar Rapids community! We have greatly appreciated all of the UP staff who have served and supported us during this challenging time. Please consider this our public “thank you” for the excellent medical care that you have and continue to provide for our family and many others in the community.

Ok here\'s why I give Unity Point a 3 star. Their Birthing Center is AMAZING! They go above and beyond to make sure that mothers babies and their support people are all comfortable, the birthing center in my opinion gets a 5-star rating. I did not have a chance to find a pediatrician for my son before my labor was induced and they went through sat down and talked to me and helped me find the perfect pediatrician for him based on my requests. Upon arrival to the birthing center I was asked if I had a birth plan I had had one but since I was being induced it was out the window my husband stepped up and touch base on a couple of things that I was hoping to have like delayed cord clamping the birthing center does everything that show signs of helping a baby like delayed cord clamping like 1 hour of skin to skin contact after first before getting cleaned up things like that absolutely amazing recommend them 100%. Emergency department used to be amazing I\'ve only ever gone to UnityPoint back when it used to be st. Luke\'s. So my son at a month-and-a-half old was constipated no big deal 9 p.m. at night 10 o\'clock at night should have been the big deal they had other emergencies happen understandably. By the way this is a Tuesday night it took them until midnight to get my now screaming son into a room. I\'m not sure what happened to their quality of care in the emergency department but it is definitely lacking the doctor and nurse were decent not even saying anything about them just the wait time was ridiculous. Point 3 I have always gone to the UnityPoint Family Planning office upon my second to the last visit my 6-week postpartum check up I was informed that the office was closing with little to no notice. I\'ve seen the same nurse practitioner in there for over 10 years now I have to attempt to find someone new I\'m very upset by this especially since they were told that they were done they had to find new jobs they were all basically fired rather than being Incorporated in other parts of the hospital or what not. So this is why I am only giving 3 stars. Birth Center 5 stars, ER 3 stars, treatment of the staff 1 star.

I was very unhappy and disappointed with the care received during a routine colonoscopy. The staff needs to learn to listen to the patient and not do the procedure if there is a problem. I will never have any more tests done at St. Luke\'s.

This review is specifically for the UnityPoint Home Heath Care medical equipment store on Blairs Ferry Rd. I went there a week ago to re-order a mask for my CPAP machine for the first time. The woman who helped me was very clueless, telling me I couldn\'t reorder the mask, then very confused about what I was trying to order, even though I had the old mask and box with me to show her. She finally called another employee over to help, but the order still got botched. 45 minutes later, I was told I would be receiving the mask in the mail in 2-3 days. It\'s now been a week and I still don\'t have a vital piece of medical equipment that I use on a nightly basis. I call in to ask if they can give me a tracking number, or look into why I don\'t have the mask yet, and they tell me it was never actually ordered. I paid for it and my insurance was billed for it at the time I thought it was being ordered. I am a new user to CPAP, with many more pieces of equipment necessary to maintain this therapy, and I will be taking my business elsewhere going forward.

Unity Point owned the building at 1220 Fifth Ave SE. This building was home to my son and 24 other intellectually disabled residents--some for 40 years. Unity Point sold the building last month and demanded all 24 mentally and physically disabled adults to vacate the building by February 1st, 2019. The Geriatric residents were moved to Living Center West while the few remaining will be moved to the $14,000,000 new facility on the NE side of Cedar Rapids in the summer of 2019. Unity Point stated they would help with the transtion of our 24 disabled sons and daughters to facilities 1-3 hours away from their families and resources here in Cedar Rapids. what a slap in the face to these disabled individuals, parents, and devoted staff of Living Center East New Horizons. one would think that Unity Point, with all its success it this community could have made other accommodations for our belived family members who have no voice of their own. shame on you, Unity Point. The almighty dollar is more important than the lives of 24 disabled human beings

I went to the ER HERE only cause the wait time was short, I dropped a 35lb piece of cement on my foot, extremely painful, where I was treated(like shit) by Jess Frana ARNP. I had to ask for something for pain, I got Tylenol which I was already taking before I got there, what happened to treating the pain while your there? Thank God the registration lady was there and heard the conversation of me simply explaining the pain to the ARNP, when Frana rudely interrupted me and said \" I won\'t give you any narcotics!\" WHOA!!! Even the the registration person looked at me. After the nurse practitioner left I asked the register lady if she thought I was asking or implying that I was wanting anything or if I was explaining the pain and where it was radiating from and she said she did not get that at all and all, that she clearly understood I was explaining my pain. I do not like being talked down to nor having words put in my mouth. There\'s a reason I normally ALWAYS stay with Mercy and this visit is just a reminder. Inhumane, rude & unprofessional. The tech was nice tho

I would HIGHLY recommend UnityPoint Cedar Rapids. This past Thursday was my first experience there. I had a procedure performed at tbe Pain Management Cinic. Let me say that the whole experience was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I walked through the door, admitting process, pre/post procedure, discharge instructions and documentation. My admitting nurse Crystal, procedure nurses Katie and Michelle. Most importantly, Dr. Harman. Their level of professionaiism and concern has set the bar quite high to any future healthcare professionals I will encounter going forward. He thoroughly explained the procdure and any concerns I had. So far, the procdure has performed as I was informed resolving my back pain. Time will tell. Thank you Unity Point Cedar Rapids, especially the staff in the Pain Management Clinic.

This place gets five stars from me! The staff was courteous and kind and the doctor (Dr. Niemeyer) was phenomenal! I have had so much trouble over the years getting treated for sinus infection. I always end up getting very sick for a long time because of the lack of treatment for many reasons (not running a fever, it has to be seasonal allergies). I can\'t tell you how pleased I was to finally talk to a doctor that understood. I will most definitely come see her again! Thank you so much for giving me the help I needed! Extremely disappointed in Unity Point on Boyson Road tonight. I managed to get there with my daughter about 5 min before their posted closing time. While I knew that they may have told me they were no longer taking patients, I found the door locked. The front desk nurse turned and looked at us and walked off. We couldn\'t even talk to anyone. Why have posted hours if you\'re just going to close early? I\'ve always had good luck at my Marion Unity Point.

All 3 of my children have been to Unity Point Pediatrics since birth. Today my daughter was seen for an ear infection. Our appointment was at 10:45 and we were already back home by 11:13.
