This place is horrible with their patients , don’t bring your kids out your family here. This place is so disrespectful, everytime I try to talk to the nurses or doctor they hang up the phone. The doctor is never there .

I went in for alcohol detox, and was thrown into the cuckoo\'s nest. Witnessed several violent mental out bursts, violent confrontations to staff members from clearly mentally I\'ll patients. I had to watch my back because I felt afraid the whole time, the only time I felt safe was in conference alone with a counselor....sad. the last day I was there, a guy threw a hot cup of coffee in my face, totally unprovoked, I never spoke a word to anybody. My advice, go to a DETOX facility, not a double use facility.

I have a friend who was taken by ambulance to this hospital 6 months ago. After her release. She never got her file containing id..all the paper work to be able to get admitted. Been trying for days ..No luck. Vance me around from records dept..to patient advocate..now they called her mother that they don\'t have any records on her..so ridiculous!!!!!

I am having the same problems as other reviewers in regards to getting information about my family member\'s current state. It appears Dr. Cordona is coming up with reasons to justify keeping them their as a danger to themselves when I get 0 indication from my visits and 0 phone call from the Dr. In fact my family member has a health issue that is only getting worse and will require a stay at a skilled nursing facility because she got dumped in a wheelchair rather than staff working with her when she was able to walk with some assistance. Ch 13 needs to investigate. Update - don\'t believe the reply. I have full legal authority to obtain all information and make medical decisions on behalf of my family member. The reply is just a smokescreen, and further proof they don\'t look into things before responding trying to cover their butt.

This place is a joke. The staff answers every single question with “I dont know“ and passes blame for the solution onto someone else, who then sends you to another person for them to tell you “I dont know”. I just spoke with a therapist about my husband and he told me “I suggest you hire a lawyer and sue the hospital” then hung up on me. Before that, he told me that the one doctor that apparently sees patients was out of town and “the hospital was functioning really slow bc of it”. It’s ridiculous Update- The doctor just told my husband, who was supposed to be released today, that since I had been calling to find out the status, it was a red flag to them and he will not be released. No further explanation and the Dr refused to speak with me when I called to ask about it

Horrible place to work! The rude African nurses and the supervisors feel like just because they in a higher place they can talk to you anyway they want to! WRONG! I’m here writing this a little over two years since being released from this establishment, simply to warn people. If you love them, DO NOT send them here. They will either be misdiagnosed, held against their will, or neglected. Unfortunately for me, all three were the case. I was voluntarily admitted after suffering from derealization, a common and very normal “side effect” of panic attacks- caused by (my now correctly diagnosed) PTSD. While in this establishment I was instructed to take medications that did not help and despite telling them that they were making me feel worse, nothing was done. I repeatedly remember the medications giving me racing heart beat and battery acid-like reflux. I was ignored by nursing staff EVEN AFTER HAVING MY BLOOD PRESSURE TAKEN. Do the nurses in this place really think a resting pulse of 120+ is normal??? Mind you I wasn’t even being treated for what I had, I was being treated for bipolar disorder-which has now been ruled as a misdiagnosis. Both my mother and I desperately wanted me out of this place, I had to lie and tell them I was feeling GREAT for me to be released. Shortly after I had my first appointment with Dr.Ahmed at the psyclinic in Webster. He took one look at me in this horrible emotional state I was in and said “She is not bipolar.” It was very obvious to him that the trauma of certain past events was causing my panic episodes, something that Dr.Hughs couldn’t pick up on despite telling her what I had been through. He assured me that what I was feeling was normal and common. I was prescribed Zoloft and a sleep aid to help me get some rest. After about 2 weeks and lots of CBT, I ACTUALLY FELT SANE AGAIN.

The Php program has been awesome. I had not felt happy and calm within the last three months until the painting lesson was introduced to the class today with was very defined with a great atmosphere. This place is horrible! Don’t bring anyone you love here. They are rude, unorganized, unhelpful, this misdiagnosed you especially if they don’t like you and they do alot of malpractice. At my stay, I even saw some of the “nurses” fighting with patients and talking horribly about them behind people’s backs. If you love your love one, send them to an ACTUAL hospital not this scammy place.

Unit 4 is dirty and unsafe. I was drugged and woke up with a torn in my virgina. I believe I was raped in this place while under influence of drugs. They moved me to unit 6 at last. This unit is better but their toilet clogged during Houstons flood, human wastes backed up in females restrooms. Most staffs were rude (no surprise) and helped patients not. They had drawing and painting activities which to me was for kindergarten. This place should be shut down. They were in the news due to frauds about overly claim to insurance and was investigated in 2015. Most of their hospitals in the same network are equally bad (UHS network). They are rude, and not helpful. If you have a Cadillac insurance (like me), they will keep you there as long as your insurance pays them. They will file paper with court to keep you their claiming you are insane and suicidal, then they would send a bogus lawyer to your unit, luring you to sign paper so they can conduct counterfeit fight in court. Don’t sign any paper, as you would get trapped. UHS network is mafia. Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire run by crooks. If your loved one is in there, get them out immediately.

I fear to reveal any personal information while writing this review, so I am keeping it anonymous. The care I received here was absolutely awful. Several different schedules were posted, none of which were followed by the staff. I understand that understaffing is rough, but they literally ran my unit like a prison until I contacted the patient advocate, which was nearly impossible to do as a patient. Once I finally got hold of her, things started changing by the next day. If you can avoid this place, I recommend you do so and find somewhere with proper staffing OR be SURE that your family has an easy way to contact you. Protect yourself. Protect your loved ones. This place is not a joke.

Accidentally discovered fraud activity. No treatment of any kind except superficial service. The place was unorganized, staffs were rude, doctor didn’t see you nor treat you. I believe there were something in food they served to keep patients crazy. This place is criminal white collar, don’t let their marketing fools you. There should be a ZERO STAR! THIS PLACE IS A HOUSE OF HORRORS!!!! This is a REAL REVIEW from the family of a patient they attempted to hold HOSTAGE for INSURANCE FRAUD Our family member arrived for a medication ADJUSTMENT. Our family member WAS NOT homicidal or suicidal. He was simply there for medication adjustment. Tammy, the director, IMMEDIATELY tried to drive a wedge between my loved one and me. Although I had legal documents that I had the right to assist in his care, Tammy said in a snarky voice "That doesn't work here, he's grown". I immediately contacted my lawyer and friends in the legal field. I was advised that we were 1. Supposed to receive a welcome packet upon arrival That did NOT happen 2. Should have been advised of the policies including visitation and communication ID information. That didn't happen. 3. Should have been advised of patient rights. That DID NOT happen! 4. Should have been offered the option to sign a HIPAA Waiver That did NOT happen! INSTEAD once I left and called back to speak with my loved one, the rude desk clerk named Toni C. asked me for a patient ID. I said "I was just there! Noone told us he needed a patient ID" Toni C. Then said "well if he wants to talk to you he will call you with it" This was DAY ONE! NO WELCOME PACKET NO INFORMATION for the family that arrived with him Nasty attitudes and evasive tactics and language to try to split the family. When I called back again Toni C said, "he doesn't want to talk to you. Maybe it's the way you walked out the door" OMGGGG!!!! I was terrified!!!This place INTENTIONALLY failed to provide proper intake information and then said that our loved one (who was there for a simple medication stabilization) doesn't need his family advocating for him! I went straight to my lawyer. The lawyer said " they could be scamming for insurance money". And he was RIGHT! The doctor, Dr U, would not return our request for calls. When I asked Toni C for the his number she told me to "Google It"!!! Also KNOW The staff is DIVIDED. There's a group of Honest staff and a group of Corrupt staff. One honest staff member confided in me that Bellaire Behavioral is under STATE INVESTIGATION! Right Now! They receive $2200 a week Per patient and will keep them as long as possible! THERE WAS also A DEATH JUST LAST SATURDAY! As I said HOUSE OF HORRORS! The only reason I was able to get my loved one released was bc we began communicating in another language after realizing the phone kept getting disconnected when he was telling me what was going on there. He had given me the ID number and we were able to get OUR OWN proper legal document signed. This is WITHOUT the support of the staff that is PAID to provide proper information. FLAGRANT STATE VIOLATIONS! Additionally, I also threatened to cancel the insurance. At which time Dr U quickly signed the discharge papers. During the time our loved one was there, he received NO OBSERVATION NO MEDICATION ADJUSTMENT NO THERAPY What he DID receive was a THREAT to be sent to Unit 5 which is full isolation from the outside world! This happened to an educated, nonviolent young man who was there for a simple medication adjustment! This place is DANGEROUS! The parent company was also fined by the department of Justice! DONT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HERE!!! They will hold them as long as insurance pays and try to keep you from advocating on their behalf of your family member. Because of the horrible experience I had with Rafique & Elhage that I had while a patient at this facility, I WILL NEVER SEEK HELP AGAIN!

Colluded with Shaunty Healing to deny me my rights and illegally commit me under false pretenses of false rape allegations, threatening me with the cops and saying I'd be voluntarily committed if I came. Refused me my patient rights pamphlet to even read, just wrote "patient refused" in every signature line and gave me the papers when I was at the unit, half the attending staff were despondent or reactive or both, and another patient on the word wanted to pay me for a "date" or "apartment" or whatever. The police accused me of a "just in case" report when I asked about the record of the patient just in case I was in danger filling that and numerous other reports of other places and parties I have to, worded and toned as if I and my actions and stance were "no humans involved" knocking at their door. The cop said as much accusing it as "not police business". The therapy and psychiatry staff on my case were narcisstically imposing and threatening about wanting THEIR diagnosis and THEIR prescriptions I'D be taking, or at least fixating on articulation and feelings more than my personal health and welfare, unprofessionally and even passive-aggressively pointing out whatever tics or shuffling I was doing. I was supposed to go along with patients provoking each other with comments with no real cleanup after words or impersonal accountability to just own up and recant, which staff and patients alike are culpable of. The facility should be shut down, or at the very least overhauled, numerous officials and employees should be arrested, along with the aforementioned patient, and the better staff and patients need better quality, care, and collaboration.

Worst place ever

This is the absolute worst place. It should be shut down. 1 week there felt like 1 year. People were falling over left and right, having seizures. The staff was terrible. I felt very unsafe at this establishment, and not because of the patients, but because of the staff! I committed myself here voluntarily because I was suicidal. I have depression and anxiety. I don’t have any addiction issues. Yet, when I told the psychiatrist I wanted to check myself out, he said he would involuntarily commit me, say I was an addict, and therefore a danger to myself because I could overdose on my medications. I asked him what I was addicted to and why I had a negative drug test upon admission if I was one. He couldn’t answer my question, saying he didn’t know what I was addicted to, but it didn’t matter. He would say that if I tried to leave. He then placed me on detox protocol. The staff tried offering me tranquilizers because I was supposedly in detox. I told them that I’m not because I don’t have anything to detox from and asked what I was addicted to. They danced around the question and said they didn’t know. Then continued trying to force tranquilizers on me. As people were having seizures left and right after taking their medications, I felt unsafe. I faked having heart palpitations to try to get outside this place and go to a real hospital. They allowed me to go to the hospital, where I explained to the doctor there what was happening. She said she was fine to discharge me and didn’t see me as a threat. However when Bellaire heard this, they said they’re a private institution and I can’t be discharged by another hospital. So I was unable to leave. Upon my return from the hospital, after not having slept the night, Bellaire tried to force me to take Adderall. They threatened to give me an injection if I wouldn’t take it because they said I was being combative. I asked them if they knew what Adderall does and basically told them they were stupid to give someone Adderall after not having slept at all. Plus I felt the Adderall was giving me anxiety. They tried to tell me I would feel better once I took it, which made no sense. Then told me if I kept arguing about taking it, they would move me to a more restrictive unit. I also found out the same doctor that tried to say I was a drug addict when I have no history of drug use, did the same thing to another patient when she tried to leave. He told her she was addicted to cocaine when she’s never done it in her life. Anyways, this place is full of incompetent, abusive staff. It’s an unsafe environment and causes extreme stress. I don’t think it’s normal to witness 5 seizures from different people over the span of a few days. The doctors here are crooked and just want insurance money. When I was released from here it felt like I was walking out of prison.

Honestly, more than two weeks out and I still have panic attacks about having to go back. I was denied my mental health medications that were brought from home, along with my other home medications that were for major medical diseases. They were in my box at the hospital but they were unwilling to go check them out to pharmacy to give them to me. I felt so unsafe based on how the nurses handled medically emergencies. You were yelled at for everything, threatened and told how “this place isn’t that bad because we don’t do lobotomies anymore… but they can still go ahead and stick electrodes to your brains if y’all want “. I was give medication in the beginning that I wasn’t even told what it was and they said if I didn’t take it id never go home.
